Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Country Days Tracker (the "App") is operated by Docurimpetuosa Unipessoal Lda. ("we", "us"), the data controller for the processing described in this policy. Contact: support@docurimpetuosa.com.
2. The short version
- Your travel history lives on your device. We do not run a server that stores it.
- We use PostHog for anonymous product analytics; you can switch this off at any time in Settings → Privacy.
- You can export or permanently delete all of your data from inside the App.
3. Data stored on your device
Everything you record in the App — stays, dates, notes, attachments (photos and documents), limits, settings and, if you enable background detection, location samples — is stored locally on your device. It is not transmitted to us. If you enable optional cloud sync, data is stored in your own cloud account (e.g. your private iCloud database or an anonymous Firebase record) solely to sync your devices; we cannot browse it.
Attachments you add (for example boarding passes or proof-of-presence photos) remain in the App's private storage on your device and are included only in backups you export yourself.
If you turn on "Show calendar events" in Settings, the App reads events from your device calendar (with your permission) solely to display them alongside your travel days. This access is read-only; events are never stored by the App, never included in analytics and never leave your device. You can withdraw access at any time by turning the toggle off or revoking the permission in your device settings.
4. Analytics (PostHog)
Unless you opt out, we collect usage analytics to understand how the App is used and to improve it. This is processed by PostHog and includes:
- a randomly generated identifier (created on first launch, not linked to your name, email or any account);
- device and app information (model, OS version, app version, language);
- interaction events, screens viewed and session replays of the App's interface.
Analytics never includes your travel history, notes, attachments or location samples. You can disable analytics at any time in Settings → Privacy; the App stops sending events immediately.
5. Legal bases (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) for anonymous product analytics, improving the App and handling support requests; consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) where required, which you may withdraw at any time via Settings → Privacy; and compliance with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)) where applicable.
6. Support correspondence
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message (bug reports may include the App's anonymous identifier). We use this solely to handle your request and keep it no longer than necessary for that purpose.
7. Sharing and processors
We do not sell your data. We share data only with processors that help us run the App — currently PostHog (analytics hosting) — under data-processing agreements. Where data is transferred outside the EEA/UK, safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses are used.
8. Retention
Data on your device stays there until you delete it (per item, or wholesale via Settings → Privacy → Delete all data, which also purges synced copies). Analytics data is retained by us for no longer than necessary for the purposes above. Support emails are deleted when no longer needed.
9. Your rights
Where the GDPR applies you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent. Much of this you can do directly in the App (export = portability; delete all data = erasure; analytics toggle = objection/withdrawal). For anything else, email support@docurimpetuosa.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority — in Portugal, the CNPD (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados).
10. Children
The App is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly process their data.
11. Security
Travel data remains in the App's sandboxed storage, protected by your device's encryption. The anonymous identifier is kept in the platform secure store (Keychain/Keystore). Analytics traffic is encrypted in transit.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy at any time, without individual notice to you, for example to reflect new features (such as optional cloud services). The current version is always available inside the App and at docurimpetuosa.com; the "Last updated" date shows the latest revision. Your continued use of the App after a revision is published constitutes acceptance of it — please review this policy periodically.
